Ireland’s Implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption

Following the evaluation of Ireland’s implementation of Chapter II (Preventive Measures) and Chapter IV (Asset Recovery) under the Review Mechanism of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), an Executive Summary has been prepared by the evaluation team. This Executive Summary details the key findings of the review process and highlights Ireland’s successes and good practices in relation to its implementation of the Convention. It also identifies challenges in implementation and makes recommendations. The evaluation team's full country report on Ireland is due to be finalised in the coming months, following which it will also be made available.
The Review Mechanism under UNCAC involves a unique peer review process, whereby each Convention State party is evaluated by two other State parties to the Convention. The evaluation team for this review comprised of peer reviewers from Austria and Lichtenstein as well as representatives of the UN's Office on Drugs and Organised Crime (UNODC).
